—Sizzle, Jane Friedman (https://janefriedman.com/), my writing business guru, says we need content strategy.

Yikes
Yeah. That was yesterday. This morning I read a short article on Wikipedia, with sentences like this: “In a 2007 article titled ‘Content Strategy: The Philosophy of Data,’ Rachel Lovinger describes the goal of content strategy as using ‘words and data to create unambiguous content that supports meaningful, interactive experiences.’ Here, she also provided the analogy that ‘content strategy is to copywriting as information architecture is to design.’”
Notice that people have been talking about content strategy for 17 years, and I didn’t even know it.
May I make a suggestion?
—Please.
Let’s have fun one more time. Then we can tackle CS.
—Excellent idea! How do you want to have fun?
The cruise, Deb, the cruise! People want to hear about the cruise
—Right, Sizzle! Look at this silk jacket that Carolyn loaned me, for the cruise! Isn’t it beautiful?
Beautiful! Is that what a cruise is all about, clothes?
—Evidently. On our Zoom call with T, our travel advisor, one person was worried that they wouldn’t be able to wear their favorite jeans with a rip in them. Cunard says no ripped jeans.
Good for Cunard
—Agreed. But apparently this person couldn’t leave their ripped jeans home for eight days.
Odd
—Very odd. Anyway, I think I can find my “cruise wear” within my closet. Now I have to do some pre-cruise reading for the workshops.
—Somewhere I read about a woman who brought 13 books on a cruise
Kindle, I assume
I’m not sure. Since I don’t read on Kindle, I’ll bring one book. I’m thinking essays by Ann Patchett. I do love her essays.
The jacket is wonderful - but my goodness what is information architecture - a house of nouns?
Gorgeous jacket. Have fun.
