I AM STILL REELING FROM THE LAST ENTRY ON THE CRUISE: BAD COFFEE? TEA BAGS? ABOARD A CUNARDER? OH, HOW THE WORLD HAS CHANGED. THAT WOULD NEVER HAVE OCCURRED ON THE OLD QUEEN MARY OR THE QUEEN ELIZABETH. I SAILED ON BOTH OF THOSE LINERS, AS A BOY AND AS AN ADULT. THEY, ESPECIALLY THE MARY, WERE ELEGANT, PEERLESS AND NEVER, EVER ALLOWED A TEA BAG TO BE ANYWHERE IN EVIDENCE.
COME STAY WITH ME SOMETIME. I PROMISE ALL WILL BE WELL.
John, I may not have been reeling, but I was shocked! Shocked! Not only a tea bag, but a TWINING tea bag! I mean, it tasted OK, but still. And aren't the Brits renowned for bad coffee? And renowned for delicious brewed tea.
I would love to visit you. We must think about this.
Sorry to hear your cruise was cold, trying at times, and disappointing in many respects. If you ever feel like traveling again, you are welcome to come east to Bristol, RI, and Laurel and I will take good care of you, and let you sleep as late as you wish! By the way, love the images in the post...
Thank you! I would love to visit you and Laurel. I may have told you, in my fantasy, I make a trip east, visiting everyone I know, starting in North Carolina and moving up. That's a long trip. First I may zip up to Vancouver.
Big cruise ships are so not for me and your travel posts just cemented that, lol. I adored the river boat cruise on The American Queen. Smaller vessel. Would highly recommend. Slow pace down the Mississippi, tons of history good and bad, side excursions. Fantastic food and staff. Entertainment of different kinds if wanted. So nice. I'm sorry yoy were so cold!
